"I'm under construction.."

Today's post I attribute to my coffee date this morning.  Upon pastry selection, I ordered something sweet and she ordered something savory.  A nice juxtaposition to our budding friendship.  The depiction still a work in progress, but the idea is solid. I feel like I'm getting so much better at mapping out my letters.  All of sudden it is really beginning to make sense.  Now instead of spending loads of time researching, I am able to essentially incorporate an idea to paper by solely experimenting with shapes and natural intuition.  Of course my rulers are in full effect.  And what would I do without my protractor?  Awwww, circle of life.

COOL TIP: Writing out the words that you will be hand-lettering will aide in layout, character spacing, em space, etc...It helps to begin to piece the word or words together in a balanced fashion.

SIDE NOTE: I am finding that I really lean towards a roundedness in my lettering....hhmmmm...keep going down that road or try some more sharply defined letters?...might as well try to become more well-rounded, am I right?!?!  - sorry, had to do it :)

Hello!  My name is Renee Marie Fraticelli. I am currently enrolled at Flathead Valley Community College . My course study is Graphic Design. I have just one semester left and couldn't be more excited to get out there and work in the field.

I am also a mother of four. Three of which are my beautiful step-children, Elaine, Alan and Kristen, and one of which is my lovely biological daughter, Juniper.  She will be 4 this April and I am excited to see her transition out of "Three-nager" 'tude.  LOL

I met my husband 10 years ago at an 80's-themed, birthday/New Year's party. I was dressed as Madonna, he was wearing a letterman's jacket with nerdy glasses and poindexter hair. It was love! We hit it off from the moment we met...side note: a game had started and he knew all of the answers...this was my guy! I'm not competitive or anything. We went on a date a week later and the rest is history.
